There was a lot that I liked and respected about Tim, probably the biggest was that he came to me during the time of billet selection and suggested with we be shipmates on the Polar Sea with a mission to serve God together on board.  We spent a week at Spring Canyon (a Christian conference center in Colorado run by the Officers Christian Fellowship) together after graduation, and headed out west together from my parents house in Colorado Springs.  He had arranged a place for us in Seattle for a couple of nights prior to reporting on board.  He primarily made the arrangements for our LTJG wetting down party in Chile.  In my archives I have some pictures of Tim and I on the Polar Sea, (in fact, some are in the Polar Sea Deep Freeze yearbook).

His southern gentleman style, quick wit, optimistic outlook, intelligence, and dedication to the engineering function will be part of the positive memories I have of the short 2 years we interacted as shipmates.  He even gave me a book of poetry that was written by his dad, which I have reflected on at various times when I needed restoration in the soul.  Tim you represented the finest attributes of a classmate!
